Are you tired of looking tired? A forehead lift can smooth forehead lines, lift drooping brows, and restore a naturally youthful expression.
When to Consider a Forehead Lift
Are You Tired of Looking Tired?
If you’re not quite ready for a traditional facelift but have grown tired of your upper face showing early signs of aging, a forehead lift — also called a brow lift — may be the right procedure for you. It rejuvenates your appearance by smoothing facial wrinkles and crow’s feet and eliminating forehead lines that can give you a tired or angry expression.
During this procedure Dr. Robinson elevates the skin on your forehead and around your eyes to surgically reshape drooping brows, giving you a more youthful appearance. Next to facelifts, forehead lifts are one of the most common procedures requested at Robinson Facial Plastic Surgery in Aliso Viejo.
Dr. Ernest B. Robinson is a Board Certified Specialist with more than 20 years of experience performing personalized cosmetic and corrective procedures for patients from Aliso Viejo, Anaheim, Costa Mesa, Irvine, Laguna Hills and Santa Ana and beyond.

Surgical Techniques to Achieve Your Desired Outcome
1
Anesthesia & Duration
Forehead lifts take one to two hours and are performed at Pacific Hills Surgery Center using a combination of local anesthesia and sedation, or general anesthesia, for your complete comfort.
2
Strategic Incisions
Dr. Robinson makes incisions at or behind your hairline — and in some cases in the mid-forehead or above the brow — to access and reposition the underlying tissue and muscle.
3
Tissue & Muscle Repositioning
He repositions or removes tissue and muscle to correct visible brow creases and frown lines between the eyebrows, creating a smoother, more refreshed appearance.
4
Skin Tightening & Closure
After tightening the loose skin and removing any excess, Dr. Robinson closes the incisions. When properly cared for and protected from sun exposure, these incisions fade completely over time.
03Recovery
Recuperating After Your Brow Lift
You’ll be discharged a few hours after this relatively painless procedure with medication to treat mild discomfort and instructions to elevate your head and apply cold compresses. It’s important to have someone assist in your care for the first few days; if you’re away from home, our staff can help arrange aftercare.
It’s normal for your face to feel puffy after surgery, especially within the first 24 to 48 hours. You may also experience slight bruising, swelling and tenderness around your forehead, cheeks and eyes — this initial discomfort is easily controlled with mild pain medication.
Day 1–2
Discharged with medication for mild discomfort. Rest with head elevated; apply cold compresses. Bandages removed within 48 hours.
Day 7–10
Stitches removed. Bruising, swelling and tenderness around forehead, cheeks and eyes begin to subside noticeably.
Week 1–2
Cleared to return to work and resume normal social activities. Avoid strenuous activity for several more weeks.
Month 3–6
Noticeable results within three months. Final rejuvenated forehead appearance achieved by six months as tissue heals completely.
