The shape and size of your nose play a major role in the balance of your face. Rhinoplasty refines your profile and can correct structural issues — bringing harmony, function and confidence to your features.
When to Consider Rhinoplasty
Balance, Harmony & Confidence
The shape and size of your nose play a major role in the balance and overall harmony of your face. If you’ve ever felt that your nose is too large, too small, crooked or out of proportion, Rhinoplasty — commonly known as a nose job — can help you achieve a more refined, natural-looking profile.
Beyond cosmetic improvements, Rhinoplasty can also correct structural issues such as a deviated septum, helping you breathe more easily while enhancing your appearance. Whether your goal is aesthetic refinement, improved function or both, it’s a personalized solution designed to bring balance and confidence to your features.
We proudly serve patients from Aliso Viejo, Irvine, Laguna Hills, Costa Mesa, Santa Ana and surrounding Orange County areas.
Reasons to Consider
What Rhinoplasty Can Address
A nose that’s too large or too small
A crooked or asymmetric nose
A nose out of proportion with the face
A prominent or uneven nasal bridge
A bulbous or drooping nasal tip
A deviated septum or breathing difficulty
01What It Is
What Is Rhinoplasty?
Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure that reshapes the nose to improve its form and function. Depending on your unique needs, it may involve altering the nasal bridge, refining the tip, narrowing the nostrils, or correcting internal structures to improve airflow. There are two main techniques — your surgeon determines the best approach based on your anatomy and goals.
Open Rhinoplasty
Involves a small incision across the columella — the strip of tissue between the nostrils — for greater precision and visibility during reshaping.
Closed Rhinoplasty
All incisions are made inside the nostrils, leaving no visible scars and allowing for quicker healing.
02The Procedure
What to Expect During the Procedure
Rhinoplasty is typically performed under local anesthesia with sedation, or general anesthesia, depending on the complexity. The surgery generally lasts between one and three hours.
1
Anesthesia
You’re placed under local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia, based on the complexity of your procedure.
2
Sculpting Bone & Cartilage
After the incisions are made, the underlying bone and cartilage are sculpted to achieve the desired shape. In some cases, cartilage grafts from the septum or ear add structure or support.
3
Redrape & Close
Once reshaping is complete, the skin is carefully redraped over the new framework and the incisions are closed.
4
Protective Splint
A small splint is often applied to the nose to protect it during initial healing and to help maintain its new shape.
1–3 hrs
A Personalized Surgical Plan
Rhinoplasty generally takes one to three hours, tailored to the complexity of your reshaping and whether functional corrections are included.
03Recovery & Results
Recovery & Results
Most patients experience mild swelling, bruising and congestion following surgery, which gradually improve over the first 7–10 days. While initial results are visible soon after the splint is removed, subtle refinements continue to develop as swelling subsides — often over 6 to 12 months — for a beautifully balanced, natural-looking nose.
